ABOUT NICK
Inspired by the classical music records his parents played at their Bloomington, IL home, Nick started playing violin at age 10.
He played all through high school, expanding his musical interests by playing violin in jazz orchestra, marching band, jazz band, and attending fiddle, rock orchestra, and chamber music camps.
Nick’s musical path was set for life after obtaining a 6-string fretted Viper electric violin in 2009 and then attending the Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Camp in 2010, which drove him to become a professional musician.
Nick obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis in violin performance from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. During this time, he studied with the likes of legendary violinists Buddy Spicher, Tracy Silverman, and Billy Contreras, amongst others.
While attending Belmont, Nick received extensive training in improvisation and many styles of music including jazz, rock, funk, country, and classical.
After graduating from Belmont, Nick jumped head first into being a working musician.
He has taught private lessons to children and adults, recorded on country albums, film scores, and pop songs, performed at hundreds of weddings as well as CMA Fest, played as a backing musician for other artists as well as fronted his own rock band, and performed in major cities like Nashville, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago.
Nick currently resides in Scituate, MA, with his fiancé and two cats.
